Should steroids in athletics be banned?

Taking steroids is harmful to the human body. A person should be happy with what they have; taking something that makes the body generate a large mass amount of energy only makes them feel good about themselves temporarily. As soon as the effects wear off, the individual taking it will continue to take it in order to gain that feeling again.
It is up to the individual to make that decision similar to taking illegal drugs. Even when the laws states something is illegal, people nevertheless continues to do it, steroids are not but are in the same category as heroin and cocaine in my definition. The most important thing here is not taking steroids but prevent children and teens from taking it. The professional athletes they set an example to the younger generation, children tends to imitate their role models and when someone does something that is wrong, children and teens will normally follow in their footstep.
In every drug there is a side effect, I am however not certain what the effects of steroid does but it probably wouldn’t be pleasant. Drugs are invented to help the body recover from illness or diseases. People shouldn’t take something when they have absolutely nothing wrong with their body; just because one dislikes his or her physical shape they shouldn’t take something that might change that. God gave us our body for a reason and we should be happy, but that’s not true 90% of the time.
What does one gain from an increase amount of strength and agility? It is based on talents and the individual playing the sport and not some drug that will make everything go well, that is a common misinterpretation and misunderstanding of steroids. Since steroids are legal and can be purchased almost anywhere, people tend to see it as a common drug that is okay to use. Like heroins and other addictive drug, steroids play some kind of addiction on the host as well. When someone is receiving a lot of compliment because they’re taking steroids to make them stronger, they will continue to take it in hope of receiving that compliment even more. Who would want the compliments to stop? Steroids are more of a drug that deals with mental addiction as oppose to physical addiction.
Because people are always so negative believing they are weak and unable to do something, taking steroids is an incentive for them. But in reality it is all in their imagination, a individual will do good in whatever they’re interested in but when they don’t have faith they will almost absolutely not do well on it. Sports are supposed to be fun and see what each individual can do; instead people turn it into something far more important than they should be. It is an exercise and an activity, and now the society has changed it to competition.

things I want to receive on my high school graduation

The one day I’ve been looking forward to for 18 years. The one day that supposedly is the happiest day of my life. Honestly I don’t really have anything that I want; it is not that I have everything. Receiving something is just an object and whatever it may be a person will eventually grow out of it. For example, have you ever think back to when you had a special toy that you loved so much, eventually you tossed it aside as you grew older. What I truly want is not something that I can have but something I can remember by. This is supposed to be the one day in our lives that we should remember besides the college graduation.
What I want is for everyone close to me to have a good time, party, and basically have a memory that lasts for a life time. My view on things might be slightly different that what most people want, but I believe there are a few others out there that share the same idea. Most people might want some expensive watch, or some incredible jewelry by. However, that moment will be lost in the past; time continues and stops for no one. The feeling is what is most important, the dream can be lost but the memory cant.
Without memory what is the point of living, each day a unique moment. High school is the one thing people look back to. Some might think college is but high school is by far the most memorable, they think back to the good old days and the great moments they’ve had and some not so great. Graduation is the ending of all that, we might think that the high school graduation is the best but really it is a time where it is the saddest. People will never see each other again, this is the stage where many of us will part and go our separate ways.
Therefore celebrating our graduation day is the most important than some solid object. In some schools, schools has this thing called a “senior trip,” where all the seniors go off to some place, usually another country for some fun and excitement. But because SIS is not responsible for holding a senior trip, we have to come up with it on our own. Also because many of our seniors are not United States citizens, they are restricted to enter some countries. Because of that reason, many of us decided to participate in it, plus the money is a problem from some students as well. Because we are restricted on so many levels, I want our class, the senior class of 2011 to have a great time on the island we’re on and celebrate one last time before we go our separate ways.

About Me, Beautiful Me

My name is Samson Hsieh, born on the beautiful island of Saipan, possess the ability to succeed. I am a very charismatic person, who loves jokes and spending time with my family. I also love having fun by doing things that people wouldn’t normally do, due to shyness or lacking confidence. Some will consider that dumb and others will say that this is a gift, a potential that will lead to greatness. What I love is what I might pursue in the future. At a young age I developed this interest towards watching movies. The genres that interest me contain comedy, horror, and post apocalyptic films.
There is this part of me that loves to see the world coming to an end, with only a few survivors carrying weapons and shooting zombies, each day an adventure, each moment in action. I see things through a very positive way; I see two doors open when one door shuts. People normally get extremely upset over things, I see ways to overcome that and get things done earlier, and therefore I don’t have to have to worry about it later. What a lot of teens don’t understand is that family comes first before anything. Maybe some will say they too follow that, but their actions only causes the family trouble by doing things that upset their parents. I put the welfare of my family before myself and anybody else.
From the very beginning my ideas and view of life is the same. Sometimes I think that even my parents don’t know me that well, but I guess that’s what most people feel at their early stages of life. People say people change, but I beg to differ. I don’t believe that my ways have changed. There is saying in Chinese that says, “You can tell a person at the age of three,” a saying has been passed down for generations. The western influence on the world today says that people change but I don’t believe that. People think they know me, but how much do they truly know about me?
A biblical concept today is that people are naturally born evil. I believe that, everyone in this world possess the feeling of jealousy, hate, and anger. Those things can lead to very dangerous actions. I can’t say I’m good, because I’m not, but one thing that I know that I will not sabotage someone in anything for my own selfish gain. Eight of 10 people will do that, I am those who will not. But I am too a careful person, me not doing that doesn’t necessarily mean that someone will not to it do me, therefore at all times I keep my eyes open. If your nice to me, then I’ll be nice to you 3 times more.

What is the ideal age to die?

Life is a precious gift from god and should be cherished more than anything in this world. In life a person may die at any given moment and from anything. The answer for the topic is unanswerable; there is not an ideal age to die. Normally a religious person would say when a person has completed his mission in life then god will take them. People die at all ages, from birth to children, teens, and adulthood. This is topic is dependent upon the individual and their view of life and how they are living it.
In society the ideal age to die is when a person is old, probably somewhere around their 80s. Most elderly usually does not have as much pressure compared to when they were younger, have children, grandchildren etc. basically having a happy life. But taking it from their prospective, old people are still people, they opinion on death is the same as everybody else. No one in this world will want to die, unless mentally disturbed individuals. Everyone knows eventually they will die; the society setting up an ideal age around the 80s makes a lot of people feel great at first knowing that they have a long way to go before dying. But as we know, time flies, and sooner or later we will eventually become old and have no choice but accept the fact we’re all going to die.
Even during life threatening situations, children and women are usually taken to safety first. It is simple, children has not experienced life yet compared to the elderly who has experienced everything. Obviously when we ask people at the age around 80s and 90s, if they lived a happy life and is ready to die, they will probably say no. The society we live in shouldn’t picture that age as an ideal age to die, because when we actually do reach that age we wouldn’t want to die. There is beginning and end for everything, but we don’t know when and we shouldn’t either.
The reason why we don’t have a meter running above our heads telling us when we’re going to die is because that way we can be happy. Knowing when we’re going to die only scares us, therefore it is wrong for the society to set such a rule, scaring people into believing that they will die somewhere that age is wrong and unjust. For example, would you tell a dying patient of their illness if you’re a doctor? Some will say yes, some may not. Doctors usually tell the family before telling patients, and then it is up to the families if they will want notify their loved ones on their illness. Not telling someone when they’re going to die actually makes them live longer some say. People will usually be upset if they know their time is limited in this world, fearing it each day, thus causing them to die sooner than they will if they haven’t found out.
